January Garnet Birthstones

I am a January baby, so naturally, garnets are some of my very favorite gemstones! January's birthstone is the beautiful garnet - a stone that varies in color from deep burgundy, to a lighter purple-red, yellow to orange to green, and on the rare occasion even blue.

Garnets have always been one of the most popular gemstones. In fact, they've been used in jewelry and decorations for over a thousand years. In ancient Rome and medieval Europe, people used garnets in their jewelry, decorative weapon fittings, and more. The gemstone has a long history of making objects beautiful for kings, queens, and nobles of the past. Maybe that's why garnets always seem so royal to me. They have a rich color that makes them simply majestic. I can certainly see why people all over the world have loved them for centuries.

At Little Girl's Pearls, your jewelry adorned with garnets features a lovely burgundy color with a gorgeous purple tone. The effect is a gemstone that's delicate and feminine. Garnets pair so well with pearls and silver but also look amazing with gold. It's such a wonderfully versatile and beautiful gemstone.

To me, garnet birthstone jewelry seems perfectly fitting for a royal princess. It, of course, makes a lovely gift for those of us lucky enough to be born in January. Whether you were born in January or not, everyone should get to feel like a beautiful princess donned in luxurious garnets!

Hi, I'm Julie and I love to share bits of joy.

Like creating special (and fun) family traditions, celebrating the small moments with big hugs and tiny tea parties, and how I’m embracing mama-hood with a smile...and maybe even a little extra time for myself.

I think that family holds so much magic, from babyhood to adulthood. So, it’s important to me that we celebrate all of it - in my own family here in Lompoc California, and in the LGP family all over the world.

I’ve made this blog into a little place where we can do all of those things together, with teacups and toadstools, tied up with a bow.
